PRISMA School 2018

PrismaPoster
The PRISMA School 2018 on "Photosensors and Signal Processing in Particle Detectors" takes place in Mainz from the 12th to 16th of March 2018

The School addresses master students and beginning Ph.D. students aiming to work with particle detectors based on photosensors. It will introduce the concepts and technologies including light creation, propagation and detection as well as the associated electronics for signal processing and digitization.

We will introduce SENSE there and present our project to the participants.

The registration deadline is already over. If interested, you may be put on a waiting list.

TechForum 21-22 June

SENSE logo web w180 jpg no transparentconsortium logo www h150 UNIGESENSE is organizing a Technology Forum on photosensing and associated electronics, in Geneva at the Ècole de Physique on June 21-22, 2018.

TechForum is a meeting for researchers and representatives of companies active in photosensing and associated electronics. Recent developments on SiPMs, photomultipliers and other photon-sensing devices and their associated electronics will be discussed. During the TechForum, scientists will show in-depth presentations with technical details of detector designs and required key components for many current and future applications. Further information is given on project timelines, required R&D, technology decisions, funding, procurement and construction plans. New ideas and R&D on them will be discussed.

APPEC Roadmap Launch

appec launch
The Astroparticle Physics European Consortium (APPEC) will proudly present the new European Astroparticle Physics Strategy 2017-2026. The event will take place on 9 January 2018 in Residence Palace, Brussels.

The new APPEC strategy will be presented, addressing scientific issues and an update of the long term scientific strategies. Crucial organisational aspects and societal issues like global collaboration, community building, gender balance, education, public outreach and relations with industry will be discussed. By acting coherently upon these recommendations, Europe will be able to fully exploit the tantalizing discovery potential in Astroparticle Physics.

Trento 2018

Trento18
The 13th "Trento" Workshop on Advanced Silicon Radiation Detectors takes place in Munich from the 19th to 21st of February 2018.

Continuing in its tradition, the goal of the workshop is to bring together experts on sensor technology (design and processing), front-end electronics, system issues, detector applications (e.g. particle tracking, medical and biological imaging) for discussions of the present state of the art, establishment of requirements of the fields  and future programs.

The workshop will feature invited talks and contributed presentations, with ample time for discussions. The deadline for abstract submission is 28th of January 2018.

International Workshop LIGHT-17

SENSE financially supports the LIGHT-17 workshop at Ringberg Castle, Bavaria, Germany taking place from 16 – 20 October 2017.

LIGHT-17 is the 9th in a series of workshops on Photosensor Developments for High Energy and Astro-Particle Physics. Leading specialists from High Energy and Astro-Particle physics and selected industrial partners are invited to this workshop, discussing the very frontier developments on low-light-level (LLL) fast photon sensors and the future trends.

One session of this workshop will be devoted to SENSE. There the roadmap towards the ultimate Low Light-Level Sensor developed by the SENSE Consortium and the Expert Group will be presented.
