Nuclear physics in stellar explosions Workshop '18

ATOMKI.jpgWe are invited to present the SENSE project at the Nuclear physics in stellar explosions Workshop '18 which is a continuation of the effort of the ATOMKI astrophysics group to bring together the experts from different fields with relevance to nuclear astrophysics.

About 50% of the chemical elements heavier than iron are synthesized in stellar explosions (in the r-process, rp-process and γ-process). The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers working in the field of explosive nucleosynthesis.

The workshop covers a wide range of topics: Evidences of explosive nucleosynthesis,Nuclear Theory in Astrophysics, Modeling of the nucleosynthesis processes,Recent r-, rp-, and γ-process related experiments,New facilities, detectors and experimental approaches.

The meeting will be a three-day event from 12th-14th September at Institute for Nuclear Research (MTA Atomki) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The deadline of the registration and abstract submission is 30th July 2018. The program will be finalized by 15th August, 2018.

IEEE NSS/MIC 2018

IEEENSSMIC

The 2018 Nuclear Science Symposium (NSS) and Medical Imaging Conference (MIC) will be held at the International Convention Centre Sydney, in Sydney, Australia, from the 10th to 17th of November.

This conference is the premier gathering of experts in radiation detection instrumentation with its applications in nuclear science, medical imaging, and space. The synergy created by the joining of the NSS and MIC is significant as it is an ideal atmosphere for the exchange of knowledge, generation of new ideas, and application of radiation detectors among academics, engineers, medical physicists, and physicians. The 2018 international conference event marks the 65th meeting aimed at bringing additional research flavours by encouraging participation of new groups of people to create ideas leading to innovation in radiation detectors, signal processing, and imaging.

TeVPA 2018

posterTeVPA
The 2018 TeV Particle Astrophysics conference (TeVPA 2018) will take place from 27th-31st of August in Berlin, Germany. TeVPA is a five day conference which aims to bring together leading scientists in the field to discuss recent advances in Astroparticle Physics.

The deadline for abstract submission was extended to June 10th, and EarlyBird registration is open until July 7th.

TESHEP summer school

bandeau V2 TES HEP 2018The 12th edition of the TESHEP summer school - Trans-European School for High-Energy Physics - will take place in Poltava, Ukraine on July 13-20, 2018.
The core lecture program addresses Experimental Particle Physics, Standard Model and Beyond, Cosmology, Statistics and Instrumentation.

The lectures are complemented by the practical sessions, discussion sessions and student-professor discussions. Students will present their projects during a dedicated conference at the end of the school. The practical sessions on Instrumentation are organised thanks to the support of the SENSE project.

Barcelona Techno Week 2018

TechnoWeekThe ICCUB and CERN organize a high-quality course on solid-state radiation detectors combined with laboratories, social events, a poster session and presentations from industry. The course covers from physics of interaction of radiation with matter, sensors and readout electronics to state-of-the-art reviews on radiation detection technologies and their applications.

The event will take place in Barcelona, from the 2nd to the 6th July 2018, and it is aimed at PhD students, researchers and industry professionals, working in related fields: particle detectors, astronomy, space, medical imaging, scientific instrumentation, material analysis, neutron imaging, process monitoring and control, etc.

Please visit the website of the course at: icc.ub.edu/congress/TechnoWeek2018/

ICASiPM 2018

PosterICASiPMThe International Conference on the Advancement of Silicon Photomultipliers, ICASiPM 2018 brings together experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in silicon photomultipliers, future directions, and most importantly, the standardization of SiPM characterization.

The effort to standardize SiPM characterization has become imminent due to the rapid improvement of SiPMs in recent years and its equally rapid growing user community. Only by standardizing measurement procedures will it be possible to compare devices from different producers and results obtained by different users in a meaningful way, thus considerably accelerating development cycles of SiPM applications.

RICH 2018

The 10th International Workshop on Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detectors will take place in Moscow, Russia, from July 29th to August 4th.

posterRICH18 smallThe workshop will present "state of the art" and future developments in Cherenkov light imaging techniques for applications in High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics and Astroparticle Physics.

The topics of the Workshop will be: Cherenkov light imaging in particle and nuclear physics experiments, Cherenkov detectors in astroparticle physics, Novel Cherenkov imaging techniques for future experiments,Photon detection for Cherenkov counters,Pattern recognition and data analysis,Alternative PID techniques,Technological aspects and applications of Cherenkov detectors,Remembering Pavel Cherenkov.

The Workshop program will consist of plenary sessions and poster exhibitions and an associated industrial exhibition from Monday to Friday.

The deadline for abstract submission is on March 31st.
