TESHEP summer school

bandeau V2 TES HEP 2018The 12th edition of the TESHEP summer school - Trans-European School for High-Energy Physics - will take place in Poltava, Ukraine on July 13-20, 2018.
The core lecture program addresses Experimental Particle Physics, Standard Model and Beyond, Cosmology, Statistics and Instrumentation.

The lectures are complemented by the practical sessions, discussion sessions and student-professor discussions. Students will present their projects during a dedicated conference at the end of the school. The practical sessions on Instrumentation are organised thanks to the support of the SENSE project.

Barcelona Techno Week 2018

TechnoWeekThe ICCUB and CERN organize a high-quality course on solid-state radiation detectors combined with laboratories, social events, a poster session and presentations from industry. The course covers from physics of interaction of radiation with matter, sensors and readout electronics to state-of-the-art reviews on radiation detection technologies and their applications.

The event will take place in Barcelona, from the 2nd to the 6th July 2018, and it is aimed at PhD students, researchers and industry professionals, working in related fields: particle detectors, astronomy, space, medical imaging, scientific instrumentation, material analysis, neutron imaging, process monitoring and control, etc.

ICASiPM 2018

PosterICASiPMThe International Conference on the Advancement of Silicon Photomultipliers, ICASiPM 2018 brings together experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in silicon photomultipliers, future directions, and most importantly, the standardization of SiPM characterization.

The effort to standardize SiPM characterization has become imminent due to the rapid improvement of SiPMs in recent years and its equally rapid growing user community. Only by standardizing measurement procedures will it be possible to compare devices from different producers and results obtained by different users in a meaningful way, thus considerably accelerating development cycles of SiPM applications.

RICH 2018

The 10th International Workshop on Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detectors will take place in Moscow, Russia, from July 29th to August 4th.

posterRICH18 smallThe workshop will present "state of the art" and future developments in Cherenkov light imaging techniques for applications in High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics and Astroparticle Physics.

The topics of the Workshop will be: Cherenkov light imaging in particle and nuclear physics experiments, Cherenkov detectors in astroparticle physics, Novel Cherenkov imaging techniques for future experiments,Photon detection for Cherenkov counters,Pattern recognition and data analysis,Alternative PID techniques,Technological aspects and applications of Cherenkov detectors,Remembering Pavel Cherenkov.

The Workshop program will consist of plenary sessions and poster exhibitions and an associated industrial exhibition from Monday to Friday.

The deadline for abstract submission is on March 31st.

PRISMA School 2018

PrismaPoster
The PRISMA School 2018 on "Photosensors and Signal Processing in Particle Detectors" takes place in Mainz from the 12th to 16th of March 2018

The School addresses master students and beginning Ph.D. students aiming to work with particle detectors based on photosensors. It will introduce the concepts and technologies including light creation, propagation and detection as well as the associated electronics for signal processing and digitization.

We will introduce SENSE there and present our project to the participants.

The registration deadline is already over. If interested, you may be put on a waiting list.

APPEC Roadmap Launch

appec launch
The Astroparticle Physics European Consortium (APPEC) will proudly present the new European Astroparticle Physics Strategy 2017-2026. The event will take place on 9 January 2018 in Residence Palace, Brussels.

The new APPEC strategy will be presented, addressing scientific issues and an update of the long term scientific strategies. Crucial organisational aspects and societal issues like global collaboration, community building, gender balance, education, public outreach and relations with industry will be discussed. By acting coherently upon these recommendations, Europe will be able to fully exploit the tantalizing discovery potential in Astroparticle Physics.
Detailed information is available here.

Trento 2018

Trento18
The 13th "Trento" Workshop on Advanced Silicon Radiation Detectors takes place in Munich from the 19th to 21st of February 2018.

Continuing in its tradition, the goal of the workshop is to bring together experts on sensor technology (design and processing), front-end electronics, system issues, detector applications (e.g. particle tracking, medical and biological imaging) for discussions of the present state of the art, establishment of requirements of the fields  and future programs.

The workshop will feature invited talks and contributed presentations, with ample time for discussions. The deadline for abstract submission is 28th of January 2018.
